The Asia continental synod assembly started in Thailand on Friday with a challenge for the Church in the region to be a ‘source of hope’, especially in the face encountered by the people.
The Opening Eucharist, the Mass of the Holy Spirit was presided over by Archbishop Tarcisio Isao Kikuchi SVD, Archbishop of Tokyo and Secretary General of the FABC; and concelebrated by Virgílio Cardinal do Carmo da Silva SDB, Archdiocese of Díli and Louis Cardinal Marie Ling Mangkhanekhoun, Apostolic Vicar of Vientiane, Laos.
On the eve of the three-day of the Asian Continental Assembly in Baan Phu Waan, Bangkok, Thailand, Cardinal Oswald Gracias, Archbishop of Bombay, presided over the Eucharist.
